Cookie Policy
Effective date: 10 July 2026 · Last updated: 10 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SoundSynth AI Studio Inc. ("SoundSynth AI," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit soundsynthai.life (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information under PIPEDA and BC PIPA.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember preferences, maintain security, and understand how pages are used. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. On the Site we primarily use browser local storage for consent records and may use session cookies for basic functionality.
2. Why we use cookies
We group cookies and comparable tools into three categories:
- Strictly necessary: Required for core Site operation — for example, remembering that you dismissed the cookie banner or maintaining basic security. These cannot be disabled through our banner because the Site would not function correctly without them.
- Analytics: Help us understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate referral sources, and device types — so we can improve content and performance. Analytics cookies are optional and only activated if you accept them via the cookie banner or save customised preferences with analytics enabled.
- Marketing: Would support measuring campaign effectiveness or retargeting if we deploy advertising pixels in the future. Marketing cookies are optional and off by default unless you explicitly consent.
We do not use optional cookies to build cross-site advertising profiles without consent. We do not sell cookie data to data brokers.
3. Cookies and storage we use
| Name / key | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| ss_cookie_consent | localStorage | Stores your cookie category choices (necessary, analytics, marketing) | Until cleared or 12 months |
| ss_cookie_consent_date | localStorage | Records when consent was given for audit purposes | Until cleared or 12 months |
If we enable third-party analytics in the future, we will update this table with provider names, cookie identifiers, and retention periods before those tools load for consenting visitors.
4. How to manage preferences
When you first visit the Site, a banner offers three actions: Accept all, Reject all, or Customise. Optional categories (analytics and marketing) are never pre-checked in the customise panel — you must actively select them before saving.
You can change preferences at any time by clearing Site data in your browser and revisiting the Site to trigger the banner again, or by contacting us at [email protected]. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies globally through settings; note that blocking all cookies may affect Site functionality.
5. Legal basis and consent
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and BC PIPA, we obtain meaningful consent before collecting personal information through non-essential cookies where that data is linked to an identifiable individual (for example, IP address combined with unique identifiers). Strictly necessary storage is used based on our legitimate need to operate a functional website. Optional categories rely on your explicit consent through the banner interface.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. There is no uniform standard for responding to DNT. We honour the choices you make through our cookie banner rather than relying solely on DNT headers.
7. Updates
We may revise this Cookie Policy when we add features, change providers, or update legal requirements. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy for cookie practices described herein.
